
Since 1952, Hanging Rock has been a monitoring point
for hawk, eagle, falcon, and osprey migration along the birds'
eastern route.

The
results for the 2009 Winter eagle survey, conducted by Jim Phillips and
numerous volunteers, revealed a population of 9 bald and 2 golden eagles
along the New and Bluestone Rivers in southeastern West Virginia. See complete results |
