AKA: Buzzard, turkey buzzard, carrion crow, red-necked buzzard

SIZE: 26 to 32 inches

WINGSPAN: 68 to 72 inches

FEEDING HABITS: Eats carrion almost exclusively. Also has been known to kill and eat baby pigs, herons, and ibises. Will also eat pumpkins when pressed for food.

IDENTIFICATION: Dark colored feathers resembling turkey. Head is reddish and featherless. Wings are held in a slight "V" when soaring and will sway from side to side. Tail is longer and narrower than that of the black vulture.
