AKA: Sharpie, chicken hawk, bird hawk, bullet hawk, little blue darter
SIZE: 10 to 14 inches
WINGSPAN: 20 to 27 inches
FLIGHT SPEED: 25 to 30 MPH
FEEDING HABITS: Eats mostly small birds, but has been known to attack birds even larger than itself. Occasionally eats small mammals, reptiles or insects.
IDENTIFICATION: Short rounded wings. Tail square or slightly forked on the end. Upperparts blue-grey and crown is same color as back. Underside is white, heavily cross-barred with reddish-brown.
