Hear the red-tail's call

AKA: Buzzard hawk, hen hawk, redtail, redhawk

SIZE: 19 to 25 inches

WINGSPAN: 46 to 58 inches

FLIGHT SPEED: 20 to 40 MPH, can reach 120 MPH in dive.

FEEDING HABITS: May hunt from perch. Will also "Kite" when hunting by heading into the wind and hovering motionless. Main prey is rodents, but will eat almost anything.

IDENTIFICATION: Dark brown above, white below with band of dark streaking across belly. Upperside of tail is chestnut red.
