Hear the golden eagle's call

AKA: American war bird, brown eagle, bird of Juniper, Canadian eagle, mountain eagle

SIZE: 33 to 38 inches

WINGSPAN: 6.5 to 7.5 feet

FLIGHT SPEED: 28 to 32 MPH

FEEDING HABITS: Eats small mammals, snakes, turtles, squirrels skunks, owls, pigeons, and insects. Will eat carrion. Has been known to take down deer,  but rarely attacks a healthy large animal.

IDENTIFICATION: Adult is dark brown with dark brown eyes and black bill. Immature birds have a white tail band with a terminal band of black, and white wrist patches.
