Hear the broad-wing's call

AKA: Broad-winged buzzard

SIZE: 13 to 19 inches

WINGSPAN: 32 to 39 inches

FLIGHT SPEED: 20 to 40 MPH

FEEDING HABITS: Usually hunts from perch. Eats mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, crayfish, earthworms, spiders, and insects.

IDENTIFICATION: Broad black and white tail bands. Black border along tip and trailing edge of wings. Brown head and back. Underparts pale with reddish-brown barring on adult bird and streaking on the juvenile.
